Empowering Cemex to deliver their sustainability and efficiency goals

Discover how MachineMax is driving construction efficiency for CEMEX by reducing idling rates and increasing haul cycles!
Partnership:

Cemex, a leading global cement manufacturer with operations in over 50 countries and a workforce of 41,000, is committed to sustainable construction. The company has launched its forward thinking “Future in Action” initiative, which aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 and reduce fuel usage by 40% in 2030.

“For one single machine, we were able to save over £20,000 on fuel usage and maintenance costs and we were only aware of this through analysing the data from MachineMax” - Steven Coles, Operational Excellence Manager at CEMEX

Challenges:
  • High idling rates causing unnecessary fuel consumption and releasing excess emissions.
  • Inefficient haul cycle times
Solution:

We have helped Cemex to reduce unnecessary costs and maximise profitability with the implementation of our software.

  • Using the MachineMax software, Cemex could identify machines with low utilisation rates and relocate them.
  • Using our productivity module Cemex gained access to the haul cycle analysis tool which helped them streamline their machines routes eliminating non value adding time and identifying suboptimal routes.
  • Using idling data and tools such as heat maps Cemex could effectively identify areas and machines with high idling rates and implement fixes to reduce the idling.
